Congratulations to Elliott Gross for the launch of his new website: https://bluesandrootsmusic.com/calendar/blues-shows/
Elliott Gross is a program host on WPFW 89.3, with his Don’t Forget the Blues show airing on Mondays from noon – 1:00pm. As a personal initiative, Elliott’s new website is designed to be a great resource for the blues and roots community in the DC/Baltimore area. Furthermore, bands and venues are able to submit live performances directly to be posted to the website.
Given that the website will include an extensive list of live blues performances, DCBS will not duplicate the effort of maintaining a live blues calendar on the DCBlues.org website, but will instead include a link to Elliott’s new website listing.
Here’s how Elliott announced and explained the features of his new website.
“My website launched this past week, https://bluesandrootsmusic.com/. It contains live music listings going out months (as far as people have submitted them), a page for ads for venues/musicians/others in the music biz that want to place them (email me if interested), a page for a music marketplace where people can sell or seek music lessons or equipment/instruments, and stuff about my radio show, including past playlists.
New submissions for the Blues and Roots calendars should be made directly through the website. From the home page, on the main menu hover over Live Shows or use the pull-down to select Submit Event. Then just fill out the info. It includes fields for Event Description and Event URL if one wants to add additional info regarding the events/shows. After one submits an event, it should appear on the website within one to two days (or possibly the same day). Also, as the website and calendars are 'live,' there will be no Saturday cutoff for the following week's calendars. Whenever they're submitted, they should appear within one or two days.
If one clicks Live Shows, all blues and roots shows combined will show chronologically. If one selects "Blues Shows" or "Roots Shows", just that category will appear…”
