The DC Blues Society will host its free 17^th Annual DC Blues Festival on Saturday, September 3rd at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre, 16th St. & Colorado Ave. NW, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This year's festival is a tribute to red-hot mamas everywhere and features a lineup of outstanding local and national acts. The festival will be broadcast live by WPFW-89.3 FM radio.

Advance admission to the After Party is $10.00 for DCBS Members and $12.00 for non-members. Admission at the door will be $15.00.

Festival Events

There will be vocal and harmonica workshops, an acoustic guitar workshop conducted by members of the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation, and a children's petting zoo, where children can come and play instruments.

There will also be a silent auction featuring works from critically-acclaimed Blues photographers, a guitar autographed by B.B. King (with letter of authenticity), and other items. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go to support our Blues in the Schools program during the 05-06 school year.
