The winner of the BBS blues band contest Dockta D works the crowd at the Nauti-Goose in North East Md. Saturday. If Bob brings this band down for a benefit concert don't miss it. This band is on my short list of favorites. More photos soon.
Since I went to Alonzo's on Sunday I know that everyone had a great time at the DC Blues Festival Saturday having heard some of the same excellent performances by Bryan Lee, Diunna Greenleaf (pictured) and Doug MacLeod. This picture was shot by Ron Weinstock. Despite the embarrassing fact that I forgot to put this BBS event on the BBS website calendar last week there was quite a turnout at Alonzo's Picnic Sunday with the best weather in years. Even though Bob always gives us an excellent lineup, this year really stood out as the most memorable one for me because of the all-star jam at the end. Incredable! I would really love for this to become an Alonzo's Picnic tradition that it end in a jam like this. Can I get a witness? More photos soon.
